Although most economists and part of the industry recommend carbon pricing as a central climate protection measure, it remains a highly controversial topic during political debates. At a press conference (Deutsches Klima-Konsortium, DKK), the two renowned climate economists Ottmar Edenhofer (PIK) and Gernot Klepper (IfW Kiel, Dialogue on the Economics of Climate Change) discussed how a carbon price could be implemented.
